Sculling is lovely in Florida in the Gulf Intracoastal Waterway in February.  High temperatures are usually in the low 20s C (60s to 70s F).  The Waterway is full of dolphins, pelicans, egrets, and other birds.  You can swim on the beaches on the Gulf side of the Keys – the water is in the high teens in Celsius.  Also found on the Gulf beaches are tons of shells and occasionally sharks’ teeth.  We will certainly visit ‘Old Florida’ restaurants where fresh seafood is on order.  This rowing tour is held under the auspices of the Ontario Adventure Rowing Association (www.adventurerowing.ca), is non-commercial, and can be considered winter training.  A visualisation of last year’s route is available at: https://www.relive.cc/view/1461622153 .

The rowing tour is done in touring quad or coastal doubles, ideal to withstand all conditions in the tidal waterway.  We have 5 ½ days of sculling in Lemon Bay and Charlotte Harbor.  In addition we have at least a half day to explore sites of the area.

The cost of seat charges for the boats, tour transport, lunches, and welcome barbeque is $US 350 or $CDN 450.  This is also the deposit which we would like to receive 90 days in advance (November 2, 2018).  After 60 days in advance the deposit is not refundable (but is transferrable).

An accommodation package for the week at a beach hotel is offered.  You have until 90 days in advance (November 2, 2018) to pay for this.  The beach accommodation we have secured is very reasonably priced and varies from about $US 900 to $US 1,100 per room for the week.  The price will vary according to the number of participants.  Normally there will be two people in a room.  A single supplement charge is applied if you do not wish to share.  Please contact Bruce Green to reserve.

Payment in Canadian dollars in via cheque or e-transfer to Richard Vincent or in U.S. dollars via check or Paypal to Bruce Green.
