September 20 – 26, 2020

Please join this fall European rowing event through the picturesque canals in and around Amsterdam!

ONEC, in association with OAR, has coordinated this tour with Rowing-in-Europe (REI).  This event is limited to 20 rowers.

Rowing-in-Europe is responsible for all arrangements.  Check out the detailed itinerary, a schematic overview of the daily rowing routes and the tour cost and payment instructions.  If you have further questions, please contact Rowing-in-Europe.

This trip is a tour full of contrasts.  You might see giant cruise ships in the harbour of Amsterdam and meet stand up paddlers in the canals a few minutes later.  Make sure you get your camera ready for the world’s most famous houseboats.  Some of them may be worth millions of dollars.

We will see ships being used as “bike parking lots”, row close to the Rembrandt museum and the Olympic Stadium.

Our boats will be coxed quads or the unique type of Dutch Wherry boats.  These boats were designed to host wealthy couples.  While the couple enjoys the scenery, two rowers are moving the boat along the Dutch waterways.

Watch for the many different windmills and little bridges.  Some of the bridges need to be opened by the crews.  Some crew members will spin the lock wheels while others enjoy the ice cream shop close by.

Are Dutch famous for food?  Make up your mind.  Taste “Bitterballen”, cheese croquettes and other local offerings during our lunch breaks

Rowing-in-Europe has a You Tube video on rowing in Amsterdam.
