Launch From: Lock 13, Campbellford, Ontario
Finish at: Lock 7, Glenn Ross, Ontario
Experience the “Ups and Downs” of the Trent River Locks during Canada’s 150th year of being AWESOME!! Launching from the small town of Campbellford, Lock 13, (38 km north of 401), we’ll row south through Ranney Falls, Lock 12 and 11 (2.3km). Next is Hagues Reach, Lock 10 (1.2 km) and Meyers, Lock 9 (1.6 km). After passing through Percy Reach, Lock 8 (1.8 km), we will take lunch. Included in your tour fee, we will enjoy an energizing lunch from a local Belleville eatery, RoseMary and Thyme.
After lunch, we begin the second half of our day tour. From Percy Reach, Lock 8 to Glenn Ross, Lock 7, is 18.4km, downstream and very scenic. Provided the path is clear, we will row the back way around Wilson Island. This back channel does not shave time or distance off our row but the traffic is much less and the water is calm and perfect for rowing.
Finishing at Glenn Ross, approximately 18 km from the 401 (Trenton, ON), we will derig the shells, load the trailer and enjoy some well-deserved ice cream before parting ways.
What to Bring:
- Water shoes (wet launching), rowing apparel, water bottle and any snacks you may wish to have on the boat.
- Life jackets are available to keep with you in the boat but we encourage anyone with their own wearable PFD to bring it.
Fee includes: seat fee, fuel for trailer transfer, lunch, water
Cost: $50 per person.
