Enjoy a pastoral landscape which switches to the rocky, island strewn landscape, replete with majestic pine trees, of the Canadian Shield.
Launching from the Lakefield Public Beach (64 Hague Blvd, Lakefield – see map), we will row to Mount Julian on Stoney Lake.
We will row on Katchewanooka Lake and then through the lock at Young’s Point Lock Station before having lunch.  We head north on Clear Lake before hitting the myriad islands on Stoney Lake.  We row along the navigable channel through Hell’s Gate, check by jowl with Devil’s Elbow and Fairy Island.  After zig zagging around beautiful rocky islands we end up at Mount Julian where we disembark and derig.  The route length is between 25 and 30 km.  Approximate timing is 9:00 arrival at Lakefield and ending at Mount Julian between 4 and 5:00 pm.
Participation is restricted to participants (affiliated members) from OAR Clubs* and independent members of OAR.   COVID guidelines in place at the time must be followed.  You must have received at least two doses of a COVID vaccine.
