Rouge Beach to Whitby

Saturday, June 19, 2021

Highlights

View of Lake Ontario, its harbours and shoreline, as well as marshes, the Pickering Nuclear Plant, and quiet streets.

Description

This is a bicycle tour along a well marked, easy waterfront trail.  Bring your own bicycle.  Meet in the parking lot (near the bridge) for the Rouge Hill National Park at Rouge Beach in Scarborough (at the end of Lawrence Ave. East) at 10:30 am.  It is about a 25 km ride to Whitby where we will disembark and have a patio lunch.  We commence again on the return trip of 25 km and expect to be back at the start for 3:30 to 4:00 pm.

As we observe the waterfront, we can imagine rowing along the shore and into the safe harbours in coastal boats.

Physical distancing must be observed.
