June 13-14 and June 20-21

An identical 2-day tour will be offered on consecutive weekends – June 13-14 and June 20-21. This is to keep numbers manageable and keep enjoyment high!

There is room for 20 rowers each weekend and a commitment to rowing both days is required. The New Baldwins Resort, in the tiny village of Windermere will be our base as we explore Lake Rosseau on both days.

Degree of difficulty:
Intermediate, open water with some boat traffic. Coxing duties are shared between all participants.

Row:
We will row north from Windermere to Four Mile Point Park, where we will stop for lunch. Rosseau
Falls are a short walk from the picnic area and we can make time to see them. We will take the same route back to Windermere in the afternoon. Total distance is 18 km, but an ambitious boat can add a 3km loop in either or both directions!

On Sunday, we row south towards Port Carling. We will navigate around the picturesque islands of East Portage Bay and row into the Indian River. The winding river will lead us to (but not through) the infamous Port Carling lock and its adjacent picnic area. We will be stopping here for lunch and a quick stroll through town. Our return row will take us back along the river and straight across the lake to Windermere. Total distance is 17 km.

Note:
Toilets are available at the lunch sites and a boxed lunch will be provided each day.
The beach in Windermere, 100 metres from the resort, is our launch and landing site on both days.
The boats will be rigged on Friday night and de-rigged on Sunday – make time in your schedule for this!

Accommodation:
The New Baldwins Resort is offering accommodation on the Friday and Saturday night, breakfast and a boxed lunch on Saturday and Sunday, and a dinner on Saturday night for about $200 per rower per weekend (varies slightly by room configuration). Menus/food choices will be available closer to the tour dates. Once you and your room-mate(s) register and pay for the tour (most rooms have 2 double beds), I will release a room from our block booking and give you the information required to pay the New Baldwins directly.
