CSM – Montebello (ONEC)

Who will win the Hensler trophy this year?
The CSM is taking a year off! Instead, an inaugural distance/tour row from Ottawa to Montebello will replace it. The 65 km tour will begin in Ottawa (ONEC) early Saturday morning and end in Montebello shortly after lunch on Sunday.
On Saturday, the tour will end in Rockland. From there, you will be shuttled to Montebello where accommodation is arranged at Auberge Montebello.
Dinner is a BBQ feast at Fairmont Le Château Montebello, home of the largest log cabin in the world and famous for its gastronomy! http://www.fairmont.com/montebello/ The BBQ offers seafood and steak stations, salad and dessert bars, etc. which means loads of great food! Per person cost is $58.00.
Please indicate on the Registration Form if the BBQ is your preference. For those that prefer a different choice – and there are many – they are responsible for making their own dinner arrangements.
There are loads of other activities and points of interest in the area for non-rowing folk such as Parc Omega, Parc national de Plaisance and regional agro-tourisme. So, bring your friends/family along. Spend an extra day or two if you wish. You won’t be disappointed!
Hensler trophy:
Even though the CSM takes a different form this year, you will not miss a chance to win the Hensler trophy. This year it will be awarded to the club that has the most participants on this tour!
Itinerary:
Saturday, August 25 9:00 am – rig the boats at ONEC; 10:30 am – launch, end of day car shuttle from Rockland to Montebello
Sunday, August 26 8:00 am – car shuttle to Rockland, 9:30 am – launch, end of tour car shuttle to Ottawa as required
Accommodation:
You must book your own accommodation. A limited number of rooms have been block-booked under Liane Bell or ONEC- so book EARLY!
Cost – $134 plus taxes per person, based on 2 beds per room. Includes continental breakfast.

What to bring:
Water shoes – wet landing and launch in Rockland, wet landing in Montebello.
Rowing apparel, bathing suit, reusable water bottle, hat, sunscreen, bug spray, rain gear, suitable attire for dinner at Le Château.
Tour fee:
$100.00 (Tour $94.50 + RCA & RO $5.50)
Includes snacks and water for both days, OAR seat fee, ferry cost, fuel charge for trailer and car shuttle, and 2 lunches by our caterer extraordinaire, Louise!
